How it works

  1. Sites: triceps, subscapular, suprailiac and abdominal.
  2. % body fat = sum of the 4 skinfolds × 0.153 + 5.783 (Faulkner, 1968).
  3. The same equation is used for men and women.

FAQ

Who is the Faulkner protocol for?

It's a simple protocol widely used in gyms and with athletes. Because it doesn't use age or sex, it tends to vary less between assessors, but it's also less individualized.

Can I compare it with another protocol?

Not directly. Always compare assessments done with the same protocol.

In Trainer Fácil, every assessment is saved to the client's profile so you can compare progress month by month.
