Estimate for adults. To track progress, always measure at the same time of day and the same way.

How it works

  1. Men: %BF = 495 ÷ (1.0324 − 0.19077 × log(waist − neck) + 0.15456 × log(height)) − 450.
  2. Women: %BF = 495 ÷ (1.29579 − 0.35004 × log(waist + hips − neck) + 0.22100 × log(height)) − 450. Measurements in cm (Hodgdon & Beckett, 1984); inches are converted for you.
  3. Categories follow the American Council on Exercise (ACE) ranges: essential, athletes, fitness, average and above average.

FAQ

Is it as accurate as skinfolds?

It's usually within a few points either way, similar to skinfolds taken by someone with little practice. The upside is that anyone can repeat the measurement the same way.

How do I measure correctly?

Tape snug but not tight. Neck just below the Adam's apple; waist at the navel (men) or the narrowest point (women); hips at the widest part of the glutes. Measure twice and use the average.

In Trainer Fácil, clients fill in weight and measurements in the app and you track progress assessment after assessment.
